An open letter to good friends

The next day, another package, abandoned on my stoop. Also from amazing dot com, it anticipated my needs. A final inclusion in a tripartite birthday present. First there was Spellbound, because I fleetingly mentioned that I wanted to have a screening of that for my birthday. That was thoughtful. Second there was The Endless Summer. I don't know, but I'd like to think you guys remembered us watching that together in M.B.'s room junior year of college. That was for memory's sake. Then today, I receive Da Ali G Show. That was for love's sake. With these presents, showered upon me, you show me that you know me well.

And I really needed it, you guys. I just got back from watching Before Sunset and it left me longing for some defining moment, a turning point, in my own life. I have those points, don't get me wrong, but they never hinge on another person.

But I do not need turning points. You are there constantly for me, whether you are in DC, NY, or MA. You see my continuous evolution, my good friends. So, my good friends, thanks for keeping in touch.

Sam.
